The veteran teacher and Director of Admissions discusses why a “typical Field student” is an oxymoron, why he has stayed at Field for so long, and why he can’t wear cowboy boots.
In your 20 years at Field, you have been an English teacher, Head of the Upper School, Math Department Chair, director of the Jazz Ensemble, the Business Manager . . . and now, you are the Director of Admissions? True. Having many jobs here and getting know so much of the school was a perfect way to know every aspect of Field. And I still lead the jazz band and teach creative writing.
As Director of Admissions, can you describe the typical Field student? "Typical" seems like exactly the wrong word to describe the students at Field.
