Our entire family is so grateful to have stumbled upon The Field School—one of the healthiest, most comfortable, welcoming, transforming, yet challenging and rigorous schools there is. My husband Michael and I sent our two daughter and our son to Field: the best investment in our family's history.

When I asked Molly about the most valuable thing she took away from Field, she said “Creativity and problem-solving skills.” And that’s what a 21st century education needs to be all about. Kate said “learning to appreciate difference.” That’s cultural competency, also critical in the 21st century. All of our kids have learned to ask hard questions, take risks, be flexible and be compassionate. And for that, Michael and I are so grateful.

Field kids don’t end their connection to the school after they graduate. Both my girls are constantly in touch with former teachers who continue to give generously of their advice and expertise. With the perspective of time, our kids can now really speak to the value of their Field educations. In recent years, on their own, each made a small contribution to the Annual Giving Fund as alumni.

Michael and I have stretched every year to support this school, in annual giving and special campaigns. A Field education is very expensive, but there is no better investment. It’s an investment in excellent teachers, terrific programs and support systems, small classes with lots of individual attention, and the value of all kinds of diversity.

I hope you’ll respond with as generous a heart as you can. I can promise you that our family will continue to support and sustain this extraordinary place.

The Field School is thankful to receive generous contributions of all sizes from parents, alumni, faculty and staff, grandparents and friends of Field to provide essential income to support every Field student every day. Our community is extraordinary.

The Annual Fund is Field’s most urgent perennial need. Tuition income covers only 90% of Field’s budget, so charitable contributions must make up the difference.  These gifts add the margin of excellence we expect from Field:  small classes, exceptional teachers, robust financial aid, and the variety of daily opportunities for each student to grow academically and socially.

Field does not hold an auction or organize sales—the Annual Fund is the primary tool to close the budget gap each year.   Support from every family is needed and is growing every year.  Last year 90% of our parent community contributed, and over two-thirds of our faculty and staff made personal financial contributions in addition to the commitment they make to Field in and out of the classroom every day. Join us to ensure the best Field education for every student.

Beyond the Annual Fund, Field welcomes additional gifts to support its fundamental priorities: Students, Faculty, and Facilities.  To address strategic initiatives, take advantage of opportunities, and ensure Field’s long-term financial strength we invite you to call the Development office (202 295-5837) to discuss ways to support these fundamentals.
