Say hello to Math Teacher Alana Kilcullen. She has been working at Field since 2021 and she teaches upper school students taking Advanced Precalculus with Analysis, as well as Statistics and Quantitative Reasoning. You won’t just find Alana in the classroom. In the winter she coaches middle school basketball and leads the Hiking PE in the fall and spring! What is something that people at The Field School might not know about you?
It is a tradition in my immediate family to hike the tallest mountain in New York when we are 7 years old.
What hobbies do you have outside of The Field School?
I read a lot, hike, I like tactile crafts, I play in recreational sports leagues (basketball, flag football, bowling). I also love going to new places and visiting my friends and family.
What was the first concert you ever attended?
“High School Musical Live”
Who inspires you and why?
I am constantly inspired by my friends and seeing the very cool ways in which they live out their passions, regardless of obstacles.
If you could share one piece of advice with your younger self, what would it be?
It's not that serious and simultaneously, it's okay to have big feelings.
What do you love most about working at The Field School?
Hands down the students. I love getting to know them as their most authentic selves!
