The first few days of school have been energetic and full of spirit. From the first call-and-response with the seniors (SEN-IORS!) to jumping right into academics and studio arts, students and teachers alike were full of excitement. Week one of school always throws a few curveballs at us and gets us flexing our flexibility muscles. The heat and humidity had the athletic office and sports coaches on their toes as the regular season got off to a very sweaty start! We're continuing to adjust workouts as needed to keep everyone safe and having fun. Remember to stay hydrated!
Off-campus trips and team-building activities are always a highlight of the first week for upper school students as well. Ninth-graders embarked on their annual trip to Calleva, the 10th grade had an adventure at Cunningham Falls State Park, juniors canoed around Fletcher's Boathouse, and seniors knocked down pins at Bowlmor. Each group worked together and made new connections with classmates, returning as a stronger team than they'd left. Well done!
Middle schoolers have been making great strides as well in getting to know each other and become strong teams. They'll have some off-campus fun later this year, but for now they're busy getting to know each other, adjusting to their new schedule, and diving right into classes!
A great start to the year is in the books, and we're all excited for what's to come. Stay tuned!
