FIRST THURSDAYS BRING OUT CREATIVITY AROUND THE COMMUNITY
At lunch the first Thursday in October, Field teachers and students kicked off a brand new Field tradition: First Thursday Open Art Studios. The first (you guessed it) Thursday of every month this year, a different studio art teacher will lead a free open class for anyone—students, teachers, or staff—who is interested.
The inaugural first Thursday was held by 2D art teacher Lucia Ormaza, who opened up the 2D art room (and the sunny amphitheater area just outside) to teach a figure drawing class.
Figure drawing is about drawing humans, so models volunteered to pose for four minutes and do a little #storytelling while participants sketched.
Learning something new, hearing stories from new friends, and stretching your brain in a creative way? Now that sounds like a great way to spend a lunch hour!
