TRÈS DÉLICIEUX! FRENCH STUDENTS BAKE TASTY TREATS FOR THEIR EXAM
C'est bon! The assignment du jour in Ermira's French VI/VII class last week may have looked like a scene from The Great British Baking Show...but students were measuring, mixing, baking up a storm, and filming the process all in French.
Look out, Julia Child! The assignment, which served as French VI/VII's oral exam, had students whipping up shortbread cookies, madeleines, and more (from French recipes) while narrating their own how-to videos, also in French, of course!
In one corner of the kitchen, seniors Nanette, Kayla, Lena, and Sophie measured salt while senior Michael filmed. Meanwhile, at another station, Walt '19 experimented with different camera angles to capture seniors Cara, Alex, Jacob, and Savannah as they mixed their ingredients. In the center of the room Izzy '19 and junior Massaran kneaded up some shortbread dough, sharing a table with juniors Jonathan, McKinley, and Camille as they discussed madeleine-baking strategies. Throughout the exam, students chatted fluidly with each other in French. What a delicious way to take an exam! Bon appetit!
