Winter Internship

Trips

Beyond the traditional Winter Internship, each year Field runs several trips themed around each of the phrases in our mission statement that give students the chance to learn beyond the classroom and in the real world.

For the 2019-2020 school year...

The Self-Discovery Great American Road Trip will explore national parks in the American West. This trip is open to students in grades 10 and above. Participants should be flexible and open-minded and have a genuine interest in road trips and the American West. There will be strenuous hiking and a lot of car time.

The Skills of Mind Spanish Language & Culture Trip will bring students to Madrid, Granada, Sevilla, and Valencia, where they will be immersed in Spanish language and culture while exploring museums, sampling traditional Spanish cuisine, watching and studying music and dance, and exploring eclectic and multi-ethnic neighborhoods. This trip is open to students in grades 10 and above who are currently enrolled in Spanish IV and above at Field.

The Generosity of Heart Trip each year provides an opportunity for interns to provide service to the Washington, DC community in a variety of settings while living in community with other members of Field's community. Service opportunities typically include: providing food for people in need, environmental service, and working with youth. Students will fulfill their community service requirement by completing this internship.
