The Field School offers tuition insurance through Dewar. Tuition insurance is required for any family choosing the two-payment and 10-payment plans. For families that select the one-payment plan, the School strongly recommends the tuition insurance program.

FINANCIAL AID
At Field, we strive to create an inclusive community of learners that reflects the DC metropolitan area's population. Our Financial Aid Program increases access to a Field education. For the 2026-27 school year, Field awarded $3.5 million in financial aid to 22% of our students.
All financial aid is need-based and primarily supports tuition and enrollment fees. If you anticipate the need for financial aid, you must apply for financial aid alongside your application for admission. The Field School has a careful process for allocating its financial aid budget each year and across graduating classes. Financial aid for qualifying families is not guaranteed. The Field School works with several area access organizations for school placement, including the Black Student Fund, Latino Student Fund, and A Better Chance.
PLEASE NOTE: Our financial aid application is available through Clarity, and is separate from the Ravenna admission application.
Financial Aid FAQ
To get started, please visit the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. You can save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. A fee waiver is automatically applied to families who qualify based on their individual criteria as verified through the Clarity application. Contact Julia Gaylord for any questions related to the financial aid process. January 5, 2027: Financial Aid Applications are due for New Students. Information on financial aid awards is communicated at the time of admissions decisions. However, admission and financial aid decisions are made separately. January 5, 2026: Financial Aid Applications are due for Current Students. Award notifications will be included on re-enrollment contracts when they open at the end of January. If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at [email protected] or 206-210-3752 in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish. We expect families who accept a full-tuition enrollment contract to do so knowing it is a commitment through graduation. We budget and distribute all available financial aid, by grade level, with a multi-year student enrollment in mind. Should a current Field family experience an unexpected, significant, and documented change in financial circumstances (typically the result of a prolonged unexpected period of unemployment or a medical crisis preventing one or both parents from working), families should reach out to Julia Gaylord and may be advised to apply for Financial Aid.
TUITION INSURANCE
Tuition insurance provides coverage for reimbursing lost costs, including tuition and other eligible expenses. This coverage comes into play when unforeseen emergencies necessitate a student's withdrawal from their academic program before the conclusion of a semester or academic term.
PLEASE NOTE: Tuition insurance is offered through Dewar and is required for any family choosing the two-payment and 10-payment plans. We highly recommend that all families secure tuition insurance.
