The Application Process

We appreciate your interest in admission to The Field School. The first-round application deadline was January 15, 2022. If you missed the deadline and would like to discuss applying for the 2022-2023 school year, please reach out to Applications submitted past the deadline date will be considered based on the applicant's grade level and space availability.  

If you have completed the application steps and process for the 2022-2023 school year, you will receive an admission decision on March 4, 2022. We have enjoyed meeting all of you during this admission season. Please reach out to the Admission Department if you have any questions.

  • Step 1: Inquire Online

    To submit an online inquiry and application please create a user account through Ravenna. Once you have created an account, you will receive updates about the process and invitations to admission events.
  • Step 2: Learn more about Field at an event

    Field will host two Discover Field sessions on Saturday, October 23, 2021 and Saturday, December 11, 2021. Additionally, weekly group tours will be conducted on Tuesdays at 9:00am. Please visit your Ravenna portal to register for events and tours.
  • Step 3: The Application

    A completed application includes: an online application, official grade reports, two academic teacher recommendations, applicant essay, and financial aid application, if applicable. Applications received after January 15, 2022, will be processed in a second round, beginning in mid-March or early April, depending on spaces available at that time. Please note: Current year grade reports and/or transcripts must be sent directly from the school. Previous year grade reports or transcripts may be sent from the school or uploaded by the parent.   • Step 4: The Interview

    All applicants need to schedule and complete their interview by January 15, 2022. Please call (202) 295-5824 to schedule your appointment. This meeting includes separate interviews with the applicant and parent(s)/guardian(s). This gives the Admission staff a chance to get to know the applicant and the family. We expect interviews to last between 45 minutes and an hour.
