A Diverse Community

We value different perspectives and backgrounds, encourage curiosity, and support all faculty members to develop as professionals. We strive to be a community that honors diversity, equity, and inclusivity, which in turn inspires creativity and collaboration.

The Field School sits on a 10-acre campus tucked away in a serene Northwest Washington, DC, neighborhood. While our immediate surroundings provide a sense of calm and quiet, we also enjoy the vast array of sights and sounds of the bustling DMV (District, Maryland, Virginia)—where students explore and learn about the history, culture, art, geography, and the thriving business community nearby.

Kevin Ford, English Department Chair

Being part of Field’s current professional community is to be part of a group of driven educators who are life-long learners themselves, constantly fine-tuning their craft to make what the students acquire meaningful, measurable, and magical!

Christophe Lorrain, Teaching Faculty since 1988

Watching and witnessing how our faculty cares for each other and cares for their students makes me realize how wonderful it is to be part of this great community.

Zelalem Geberu, Business Office Controller

In a word, being a part of Field's professional community is INSPIRING. Collaboration thrives, empathy is nurtured, and growth is celebrated. Enveloping students in this environment strengthens our community.

Susan Vogel, Director of Advancement

Field is a caring community that has played an important part in my career, as Field isn't just a place to come to work, it's a place where we care about student learning and growth. It's a place where we foster new discoveries inside and outside of the classroom, and it's a place where I have grown as a professional.
